Recently-orphaned Mary believes that she is destined for misery at her uncle's ancient Misselthwaite Manor. But when Mary discovers a magnificent, yet unmanaged garden, she envisions a chance at happiness. With the help of her shut-in, invalid cousin Colin and new friend Dickon, they turn the neglected garden into a beautiful sanctuary capable of restoring joy in their hearts.
